Primary education in Correctional Studies
The primary education of prison officers in Norway is an accredited two-year degree programme. The programme awards 120 ECTS credits and the degree University College Graduate in Correctional Studies. The programme includes both theoretical and practical subjects.
Bachelor's Degree in Correctional Studies
As of 2019, KRUS also offers a supplementary course of 60 ECTS credits for students wanting to achieve a Bachelor's Degree in Correctional Studies. A prerequisite for this course is the University College Graduate in Correctional Studies degree or equivalent qualifications.
Single subjects and student exchange
KRUS welcomes applications to single subjects from the supplementary course. Every semester, KRUS offers one or more 15 ECTS credit subjects to students outside the programme, including exchange students from our partner institutions abroad. Most of our subjects are taught in Norwegian but we will on occasion be offering subjects taught in English.
